Mollie Fitzgerald, co-owner of Frontiers, is a cum-laude graduate of Duke University and as daughter of Frontiers’ founders, Mike & Susie Fitzgerald, literally grew up with the travel business. Now in her 22nd year with the company, Mollie looks after the Elegant Journeys, Safaris, Air, and Atlantic Salmon Fishing departments at Frontiers. Equally at home in the wilds of the great outdoors and the world’s most sophisticated capital cities, her destination knowledge spans the globe and fuels her ongoing passion for travel.
Mollie serves on the Advisory Board of Abercrombie & Kent, Conde Nast Traveler Magazine and is a Director of the Atlantic Salmon Federation. She has been identified by Conde Nast Traveler as one of the “130 Top Travel Specialists” (since the inception of the list 8 years ago).

Mike Fitzgerald, Jr., is co-owner and President of Frontiers. As the son of the founders, Mike grew up with the business since it started in 1969. In the early 1980s through high school and college, Mike worked part time for the company. After his junior year of college, he spent a summer in England working for Frontiers and Orvis as a fly fishing guide on the historic chalk streams in Hampshire.
Mike joined Frontiers full time in 1987 upon graduation from Duke University where he majored in sociology and minored in economics. Through the years, Mike has handled a number of fly fishing and bird hunting programs. Today as part of the Senior Management Team, Mike works most closely with the American West, Saltwater and South Pacific Departments. He is also very involved with marketing, supplier relations and business development.

Jill Jergel joined Frontiers in March 1983 and created the Elegant Journeys Department. Currently, Jill is a Senior Program Manager specializing in arrangements to France and our Barging in Europe program.

Bethany Hunkele joined Frontiers in 2004 in our Elegant Journeys Department, and she is currently working as a Program Administrator in that department.

Representing Frontiers since 2000, Hank Ingram has turned his long standing passion for fly fishing and wing shooting into a full time career. Hank is our South America Fishing and Shooting Department Manager.

Elaine Wissolik joined Frontiers in 2003 working as an assistant to the Argentina dove shooting program. She now manages both the dove and duck shooting programs in Argentina.

|
A native of northwestern Pennsylvania, Stew Armstrong worked as the office manager for an Alaska fishing lodge for six years before returning to the Lower 48 and joining the Frontiers team in 2005. As manager of Frontiers’ Alaska program, Stew handles arrangements for all types of travel in the “Greatland”, from world-class fishing excursions in all regions of the state to luxury cruises through the Inside Passage.

Line A. Bouthillette joined Frontiers in November 1994 as the Front Desk Receptionist. Currently, Line is working as a Senior Program Manager in the Saltwater Department, specifically Venezuela, Costa Rica, Panama, and Guatemala.

Kristine Brooker joined Frontiers in April of 2004. She is a program manager in the South America Fishing Department for Tierra del Fuego. Since joining Frontiers, she has experienced fishing for sea runs and dorado in Argentina.

Joe Codd joined Frontiers in September 1999 in our Saltwater Department. Currently, Joe is the Saltwater Department Manager. His previous experience includes working for L.L.Bean for 15 years as the head of their fly fishing school as well as helping run their specialty phone lines.

Mike founded Frontiers with his wife, Susie, in 1969 and has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the company for the past 32 years. He was involved in the early development of a number of destinations that remain mainline Frontiers programs today including Christmas Island, the Ponoi River in Russia, shooting in Argentina, and fishing in Iceland and at the Alta in Norway. He has served on various boards of directors including the Atlantic Salmon Federation and the American Museum of Fly Fishing.

Dennis joined Frontiers as a Program Administrator in the South America Department on a full time basis in January 2005. Prior to Frontiers, he worked for several years at US Airways in their International Reservations Department.

Kirsten joined the Frontiers Elegant Journeys Department in February 2007 and has worked primarily with the European Canal Barge Cruises and travel to France.
|

Susie Gavlik joined Frontiers in July 2001. Susie is currently employed as a Senior Program Manager in the Elegant Journeys Department with an emphasis in South America.

A lifelong sportsman, Tom Gilliland handles wingshooting programs in South America and Mexico. He grew up hunting and fishing and has many years experience in the field and on the water.

Handling our New Zealand and Australia programs since 1988, Judy Greene has a sincere love for the South Pacific and has taken over a dozen trips Down Under in the last 15 years. Whether you are fishing, shooting, sightseeing or relaxing, she will make sure that you are in the right place at the right time of the year for a truly wonderful travel experience.

Ben Hoffman joined Frontiers in March 2005 and is the Senior Program Manager for South America Fishing, specifically, with a focus on the trout lodges of Chile and Argentina.

Kathy Katasanow Kathy Katasanow joined Frontiers in March 1998 as the Mongolia Program Manager in our Freshwater Fishing Department. Currently, Kathy is the Department Manager for our Africa programs. She has custom designed photographic safaris in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Namibia, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Joe Koziara joined Frontiers in February 2005 as a Program Manager in our Saltwater Department. Currently, Joe works as a Senior Program Manager with our Christmas Island and Mexico programs.

Joe joined Frontiers as a Senior Program Manager for the Bahamas Fishing and North American Wingshooting in October of 2005. Prior to this move, he spent nearly eighteen years with L.L.Bean in Freeport Maine in various capacities. Some of those duties included Customer Service Representative, Retail Sales, Flyfishing Instructor, Pro Program Coordinator and Product Specialist.

Lynda McDonough joined Frontiers in March 2004 in our Human Resource Department. Currently, Lynda is working as the Human Resource Manager.

Rose McKay joined Frontiers in February 1994 in our Saltwater Fishing Department. Currently, Rose is working as a Program Manager in our Africa Department.

Meredith McNaugher joined the Elegant Journeys department at Frontiers in 2004 as Program Manager.

Jonathan Mostoller joined Frontiers in 2000. Jonathan manages the Seychelles and Mongolia fishing programs.

Linda Rumburg joined Frontiers in November 2002 in our Executive Support Department. Currently, Linda is working as an Executive Assistant to Susie and Michael Fitzgerald as well as assisting in the Elegant Journeys Department.

Senior Program Manager Denise Schreiber, has handled the Belize Fishing program since 1992. She also heads up our American West Fishing department.

Cindy Smith joined Frontiers Elegant Journeys Department in May of 2001. Cindy has been in the travel business since 1992, working primarily with Caribbean destinations.

Carole Sommer joined Frontiers in August 1981 in our Accounting Department. Currently, Carole is working as a Program Manager in the European Wing Shooting Department.

Natasha Tichy, a senior program manager at the Elegant Journeys Department, joined Frontiers in June of 1998. Specific areas of expertise include Russia, the Baltic countries of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, Western and Easter Europe (including all countries of of the former Soviet Union), Antarctica and Asia.

Heather Unruh joined Frontiers in 2007 and presently dividers her time between Atlantic Salmon Fishing and Elegant Journeys departments.

Mark Hewetson-Brown joined the Ponoi team in 2003 in Russia. He spent three seasons guiding at Ryabaga, during which time he spent his winters working in our US office co-ordinating driven shooting trips in Europe. Since October 2005 he has been a full-time member of the European office, where he looks after shooting in Great Britain and Europe, along with shooting in South America and fishing in Russia. Mark spent the majority of his formative years with either rod or gun in hand, either on the farm in Hampshire or in south-west Ireland. He is a graduate of Newcastle University.

Lara MacDonald graduated from Edinburgh University and has worked for Frontiers since 1995. She is widely travelled and heads Frontiers Ltd’s African department in the UK. Over the past 10 years she has developed very strong working relationships with safari companies, ground operators, camp owners and managers throughout Eastern and Southern Africa. Her skill lies in customising safaris to suit individual’s specific interests and she takes great care in organising dream itineraries for her clients, their families and their friends – including safari honeymoons. Her enthusiasm for Africa is infectious. She is also our Galapagos Islands specialist having spent a period of her university life living in Ecuador. When Lara is not putting together an itinerary, she is looking after her three young children, playing tennis and gardening.

Tarquin Millington-Drake was a Director of the safari company Ker & Downey in the UK from 1989-1993 during which he got to know Frontiers well through clients’ interest in fishing. He opened the Frontiers’ UK office in 1993 and has overseen its evolution into a knowledgeable sporting institution, just as Frontiers has become in the US. In 1999 Tarquin also took over the role of President of the Ponoi River Company overseeing all operations on the Ponoi through 2006. He continues his work for the new owners of the Ponoi under contract. During 2001, while continuing in his role with Frontiers, he assisted Rory Fleming in the creation of Shackleton International that has built up a portfolio of first-class fishing operations around the world. Tarquin has travelled to countless Frontiers’ destinations and remains involved with the day-to-day operations and management of Frontiers as Managing Director.

Justin Staal joined Frontiers Ltd in May 2002 and is a Director of the European Office. He specialises in Russia, Alaska, Iceland, New Zealand and the American West with first-hand knowledge also of many of the saltwater operations. After leaving school he obtained a BSc (Hons) Degree in Agriculture and Land Management from the Royal Agricultural College before taking and completing a Masters Degree in Land Management (Rural) at Aberdeen University. Before joining Frontiers, Justin worked within the travel industry for four years spending each summer running the Kharlovka and Eastern Litza on the Kola Peninsula. Other interests include shooting, sailing and photography.
