Carlos Olano is sitting on a gem in the agriculturally fertile Chaco plains of central Bolivia. This exceptional location is known as one of the best dove shooting destinations on the planet. Endless acres of soybean, sunflower, and sorghum surround the lodge and hold millions of eared doves. The lodge is notable not only for volume, but for the well-scouted shooting locations and exceptional team that keeps hunters under birds. A beautiful, new 8 bedroom lodge awaits our shooters. The short flight from Miami is another attractive benefit to booking this great dove shooting trip.
This area is extremely flat and offers thousands of acres of sunflower, sorghum, wheat, and soybean attracting huge volumes of doves. This is the Gran Chaco plains similar to the U.S. Midwest. Shooters are placed along flight lines between roosts and feeding areas. Volumes rival Cordoba, Argentina.
Guests stay at beautiful La Leyenda Lodge which offers 8 bedrooms with private bathrooms. The lodge has a swimming pool and Jacuzzi to ease sore shoulders. The convenient location maximizes the shooting day and eliminates long drives. Hunters stay in quiet comfort and style in this remote setting.
Semi-auto and o/u rental guns from 28 ga. to 12 ga. will be available. Baretta/Benelli are the common brands carried. Shells are provided for our guests by the lodge. We suggest bringing a recoil reduction device and ear protection to ease the impact of volume shooting.
Santa Cruz is reached via one-stop overnight flight on American Airlines from Miami. After arrival in Santa Cruz, you will be met and driven to the lodge in air conditioned vehicles. Transfer is 1.5 hours. Enjoy lunch and your shooting begins. Your final day has a morning shoot and depart for the airport. A tourist visa is required for Americans traveling to Bolivia. This may be obtained at the airport in Santa Cruz upon arrival. Contact Frontiers for details. Bolivia has arguably the best volume dove shooting in the world and endless Mennonite farms provide feed for millions of eared doves.
3 day/3 night $2,250. Extra days are $500 per day. April-October 31 season. 4-hunter minimum or you will be added to an existing group. Excluded are the Bolivian visa ($160), gun rental, shells, optional pigeon hunts ($100 per person), and gratuities.
