Perched on the Kvichak River with access to Bristol Bays finest fly out fishing

The Kvichak River is home to the largest trout in the world. It also boasts the largest annual sockeye salmon runs on the planet as well as all other species of Pacific salmon. Most days, our best fishing option is a 10 min flight to the braids where small jet boats access fly fishing water. A fleet of 3 Beavers goes out with 4 anglers and is devoted to those anglers all day, with the option to fish more than one location per day. You may head back to the lodge whenever you want. Flight times are 5-30 min, with the furthest being 1 hr. We have over 30 unique destinations depending on the seaso

Fishing

While a large part of our fishing is for trout, we’ll spend as much time as you wish going after char, grayling, and all 5 salmon species. We have boats on both the Nushigak and Alagnak rivers that provide for incredible King Salmon fishing and quite possibly the best chum fishing on the planet.

Accommodation

The main guest house has 4 double-occupancy rooms, each with a private bathroom. The honeymoon riverfront cabins each sleep two with private bathroom. Cabins are 1 room buildings with a queen and twin beds, sitting area, refrigerator and private bathroom. There is a huge 4 bedroom family cabin.

Gear

Fly: Combo of 6 and 8 wt. flyrod or a 5 and 7 wt. works well all season. Conventional: Lightweight rod/reel combo for smaller fish, and a medium action rod (6-7 ft) for salmon. The lightweight reel should hold 150 yds of 6-8 lb. mono. Salmon reels should hold at least 150 yds of 12- to 15 lb. mono.

Trip Specifics

Fly commercially to Anchorage on Sunday – overnight at hotel. The charter flight from Anchorage to King Salmon departs every Monday morning at 9 am from Anchorage International Airport. Upon arrival in King Salmon, you will be met and transferred to our float planes for a 30-minute flight to the lodge. Once at the lodge, we will give you some time to unpack and unwind, followed by a hot lunch and quick orientation. Your individual gear needs will be evaluated based on what you have already packed, and then it’s upriver to fishing for trout, grayling or salmon.
