Each morning groups of two anglers accompanied by a fishing guide, will depart the Rio Azul for the short run to the nearby shore or up the selected river. Anglers will then walk a short distance up stream and commence fishing. The fish found here are mainly eating other baitfish so streamers get plenty of action. Resident rainbow and brown trout as well as sea-run trout and salmon are often eager takers. Fish are numerous and average in the five pound range, and last year (2008-09) fish over ten pounds were taken every week. The larger fish are usually brown trout with the all time record being a 39 inch, 20+ lb behemoth caught in 2009. After fishing 3-4 hours, anglers will enjoy a streamside lunch or return to the Rio Azul for lunch and a short rest. Meanwhile the Rio Azul has repositioned to a new river, or if the fishing has been productive, it will remain in the same location and anglers will return to the river for another exciting session. This area is full of protected coves where the yacht will safely moor to assure guests a restful night.
