Mission Lodge at Aleknagik - Activities

Southwestern Alaska abounds with wildlife. The Alaska brown bear thrives primarily on the rich salmon runs that occur between June and September. Frequently, that photo opportunity of a lifetime appears. From special trips to view and photograph the famous "Brooks bears" to scenic flights over the famous Bristol Bay Region, there is more than just fishing at Mission Lodge. You will see moose and caribou roaming the Mulchana, Nuyakuk, and Nushagak river drainages. Caribou travel hundreds of miles each year in their migration to and from calving grounds; these nomads are often sighted during flights throughout the Nushagak Basin.
