In Chilean Patagonia, 270 Km south of the airport of Balmaceda, is one of the world's amazing rivers: the Rio Baker. From its headwaters in the great Lake General Carrera this river flows through a spectacular mountainous countryside. It is flanked by the enormous Patagonian icefields and its banks are enshrouded by endemic forests, home to some unique fauna. The Baker appears turquoise-green from a distance, but upon closer inspection reveals its crystalline and productive waters. This is a pristine and privileged fly fishing and outdoor adventure paradise. On the banks of this spectacular river, amidst ancient forests, is located the region's most important fly fishing facility: the Patagonia Baker Lodge.
