A prosperous gold mining area in the latter half of the nineteenth century, the area is now populated by tuis and bellbirds. Nature has reclaimed its territory.

The lodge has been lovingly created from native materials. Its five comfortable guest rooms offer spacious comfort with the added bonus of an upstairs loft.
