Abaco Lodge - Fishing

The Marls fishery is first and foremost a bonefish destination. Here you will encounter numerous schools of bonefish in ultra-skinny water that are very receptive to a delicately and accurately placed fly. Expect fish to average 3 pounds with an occasional shot at fish 6 pounds and up. Most of the Marls has a soft bottom so it is best fished from the bow of the Hells Bay Skiff.

For the wade fisher and for larger bones, a trip to Cherokee Sound on the oceanside of Abaco can be coordinated. Here fish can average 5 pounds with double-digit fish a distinct possibility. However, you will need to bring your A+ game as these fish are as wary as a bonefish gets.
