For many years, Casa Blanca has been famous for its prolific bonefishing and tremendous permit resources. The flats at Laguna Santa Rosa, Esperanza and the Tres Marias are a short, comfortable boat ride away. The Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve, a 1.3 million-acre nature reserve operated by the Mexican Government, surrounds and insulates Casa Blanca from the rest of civilization. The biosphere's stringent regulations limit commercial angling and, in combination with Casa Blanca's strict catch-and-release policy, ensure great fishing for years to come. The fishing at this destination seems to improve each year, with greater numbers and even larger fish.
