El Pescador - Ambergris Cay - Fishing

Tarpon and bonefish are the main targets here. Fly fishermen will also find permit, snook, barracuda, jacks, ladyfish and other species on the flats as well as a great variety of reef species. Go outside the reef for sailfish or wahoo, or troll for kingfish and barracuda.

The waters at El Pescador have classic tarpon flats; at certain times of the year, sight fishing for 40-100 pound-plus migratory tarpon on the flats can be exceptional. Flats skiffs with competent guides and late-model motors are part of the fishing package. There are over 400 miles of productive flats around Ambergris Cay. In addition to fishing from the roomy Mexican skiffs, there are opportunities for wading for bonefish on select flats.
