Flamingo Beach - Flamingo Bay Pacific Charters - Fishing

The waters off Flamingo Beach offer outstanding sport on tournament-rigged boats of all sizes from 27-ft to 36-ft and larger. Sixteen to twenty miles west of Flamingo Beach are two drop-offs where water depth increases from 360 to 2,000 feet and again from 2,000 feet on. This provides a complete eco-system of sea-life, and predominant sportfishing species include: sailfish, blue, black and striped marlin, dorado and yellowfin tuna.

The Catalina and Brumel Islands and a series of rock outcroppings called the Sombreros are only four miles from Flamingo Beach, and this area provides a year-round abundance of yellowfin and skipjack tuna, wahoo, sierra mackerel, almaco jack, and jack crevalle. A variety of snapper including cubera or dogtooth, roosterfish, grouper, black tipped sharks, and a variety of other reef and bottom dwellers live in this area. Flamingo also accesses the fertile fishing grounds of the Gulf of Papagayo including the Bat Islands with year-round action for trophy-sized roosterfish and more than 25 varieties of sportfish.
