What can you say about Guatemala that hasn't already been said? Sailfish mecca. Period. If you can't catch a sailfish in Guatemala you might want to think about fishing for something else! Maybe take up golf. It's everything you've read about and has to be experienced to understand just how good it can be. The "bite", when on, is flat our tiring and you'll only need 2 or 3 days to understand what it's like to fish until your arms fall off. When Guatemala is fair, it equals or betters most other great offshore destinations. Short runs to the billfish grounds are the norm, as are calm seas. The blue marlin bite has been terrific now for two years running and the crews can gear up for that with one day's notice.
