When someone mentions sight fishing on shallow saltwater flats, most people think of far away islands, tropical breezes, and perhaps a palm tree or two. Many of us forget that some tremendous flats fishing opportunities can be found here in the Northeastern United States. We are pleased to present Keer's Cape Adventures, located in Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
Expansive bayside flats run throughout Pilgrim Country and from Barnstable Harbor to Provincetown. The striped bass and bluefish move back and forth along the bars, channel edges, and up onto the sand flats to feed on herring, squid, menhaden, silversides, sand eels, and shrimp. For the majority of your trip you'll sight cast to pods of fish in water depths that range from under a foot to three feet. As the tide floods you'll move higher up onto the flats and cast a variety of surface flies or streamers to specific fish.
