Rio Parismina - Overview

(rē-ō pa-rəs-ˈmē-nä)

Location: Costa Rica - The north central Caribbean coast

Season: year-round

Capacity: 22

Continuing to set the standard for Costa Rica's east coast angling programs, Rio Parismina Lodge combines upscale accommodations with immediate access to both river/estuary and ocean fisheries. Depending on season and weather conditions, large tarpon may be found in greater numbers in the river system or the ocean near the river mouth as well as snook, cubera snapper, mackerel, jack, mutton snapper, sawfish and shark. Rio Parismina has a fleet of 17-ft jon boats that are ideal for the rivers and creeks, however, for ocean fishing, their custom-built 21-ft modified V-hull craft have proven invaluable. These center-console boats with 125-hp outboards facilitate comfortable passage through the river's inlet and greater maneuverability in ocean waters. They also give anglers the option of fishing a virgin reef a few miles off the coast for offshore species such as sailfish, wahoo, yellowfin, and dorado.
