Turneffe Island Resort's remote location and restricted capacity ensures excellent opportunities for both fly and spin anglers. Miles of wadable flats close to the resort offer angling for schools of bonefish that average a respectable 2-5 pounds with some in the 8-pound or better category. Permit are quite common and tarpon are available, but June-September provides the best opportunities. English-speaking guides take guests in Dolphin super skiffs with Yamaha 40-hp outboards. Other species roaming the flats include barracuda, cubera and mangrove snapper, snook, jacks and many other exotics.
