Zancudo Lodge will customize any fishing adventure an angler desires, from inshore to offshore to fishing the river banks. All marlin species are caught year round with the peak time for blues being November, December, March and April while the black marlin peak in July and August. Sailfish and dorado are common year round, peaking from November to May and November to April respectively. Inshore, try your hand at roosterfish ranging from 20-70 pounds and over a dozen types of snapper ranging between 15-100 pounds. Other species available include large yellowfin tuna in the 200-300 pound range often found feeding under large schools of porpoise. Schoolie sized yellowfin are available year round and bigeye are also common.
The fleet of boats consists of 15 modern 28-ft center consoles powered by twin Suzuki four-stroke engines along with a 32-ft and 36-ft Twin Vee catamaran and a brand new Contender with full tuna towers. Each boat is custom built for fishing with the latest electronics, live bait wells, and outriggers. They carry modern fishing equipment with a selection of tackle of choice, from ultra light to fly. The Twin-Vees have tuna tubes, top of the line Raymarine electronics, and a 12-ft beam. Their captains are well trained and versed in fly fishing to ensure that you experience the ultimate fishing adventure at Zancudo Lodge.
Zancudo Lodge strictly adheres to "Catch & Release" practices in order to preserve the billfish resource. All billfish are protected by catch-and-release laws, and the crew will make every effort to safely and successfully release these species immediately after photos are taken.
