Estancia Algar - Overview

Location: Argentina - Neuquen Province

Season: March 1 to June 30

Capacity: 2 hunters per week

Estancia Algar is a 60,000-acre private ranch located 60 miles north from the beautiful city of San Carlos de Bariloche. It has the perfect habitat for the red stag, which are found in large number and free roaming.  Algar also has an enclosure of approximately 20,000 acres.

Algar sits atop an open plateau of expansive rangeland shrouded in yellow-gray, sage-like vegetation and pampas grass. This is steppe and mesa country with low vegetation and arid conditions. You will find the terrain to be very vast and open, making it easy to spot game from high vantage points. Hunting from horseback or vehicle are your methods of moving about the ranch. Your final approach will be done on foot to within shooting range.

Algar has optional hunting inside two enormous preserves: these eclosures are so large that hunting perception is highly realistic and can be even demanding. It is also, of course, very consistent. Preserve one encompasses 20,000 acres (roughly 15 square miles!) and the second is 9,000 acres.

Other species include
Fallow deer, wild goat, European boar, multi-horned sheep, axis deer, mouflon sheep, water buffalo, blackbuck antelope and wild boar. These animals may be harvested during your stag hunt for an additional fee. Prices available upon request.
