Location: Spain - El Palomar – with new shooting opportunity for 2013
Spain, a great 25-year Frontiers destination, creates in one's mind a picture of the wonderful, casual lifestyle of sunny days and festive nights - and, of course, exceptional red-legged partridge shooting. Each year our Spanish hosts introduce new and interesting drives in varying terrain to create yet another dimension for our many "repeat" clients. Generally, there are five to six drives during the day - three in the morning and two or three in the afternoon after a nice lunch break. Tapas are served in the field between drives and there is time to relax before evening cocktails and dinner. These hard-flying country partridges flashing over the gun lines represent for many the zenith of driven shooting.
A new opportunity for the 2013 season at El Palomar incorporates one half day of exciting flighted mallard shooting around the beautiful lake setting. For those who have shot at El Palomar, you will remember this spectacular location on the estancia. They have set up spacious blinds and shooters will alternate after each of the three drives. About 1,000 mallards will fly high over the guns providing great high pass shooting. The hospitality of the Flores family is memorable; you will find attractive and newly updated private accommodations, friendly and attentive service, wonderful dinners and lunch on the expansive verandah and fun-filled evenings in the beautiful dining area.
An array of services is offered from arrival in Madrid until departure, including a staff representative to coordinate all the activities for both shooters and nonshooters to explore the countryside or, if preferred, nonshooters can join their partners in the field.
The shooting season in Spain varies from region to region. Depending on the estate we use, we can offer driven shooting from late September all the way through to the beginning of April.
