One of Frontiers’ favorite venues not just in the Bahamas, but the entire saltwater world is the Delphi Club. Delphi is located on southeast Abaco Island and they have an attractive offer for some of the less traveled months. Here’s the deal, book a trip during the months of January, June or October and receive a $100 discount per person per night. In addition, if for any reason you can’t get out fishing, you don’t have to pay for it. Delphi’s no fish / no pay policy is quite unique in that most lodges require payment whether you fish or not.
Here are some other reasons as to why you might wish to consider traveling during these months. It’s likely the January weather on southeast Abaco will be better than yours at home. Yes, cool fronts can push through the Island, but they seldom last long. The fishing before and after can often be exceptional. January is also considered one of the choice months to target the biggest bones of the year.
June is known for light winds, long sunny days and often ideal fishing conditions. Afternoon thunderstorms are a common occurrence but generally, they’re small in scope and easy to dodge. June is one of the best months to catch lots of bones and Abaco has one of the most prolific bonefish flats systems in all of the Bahamas called The Marls.
October excels as a month in which bonefish have seen little fishing pressure over the summer. Anglers are able to take advantage of bones that are content and hungry. It’s also prime time to target the resident tarpon of Abaco and with the bigger fall tides, permit are also a major attraction.
And there’s plenty to do for any non-fishers in your group or for non-fishing days.
