Bait Balls in Colombia at Black Sands Lodge

Each spring, huge numbers of sardines migrate and congregate in the waters of Bahia Solanos, on the northern Pacific coast of Colombia, followed closely by various hungry predators. Snapper, Tuna, Sails, Roosters, and even the occasional wayward Tarpon are found feasting on this bounty of bait—sometimes within sight of the lodge!

With brand-new, luxury accommodations, Yamaha-powered Contenders, and an expert staff, Black Sands Lodge should be on the radar of every Bluewater angler. They have a prime week that just became available for April 19-26, 2025.

The fishing at Black Sands Lodge is a unique experience. The water depth drops to thousands of feet just miles from shore so, often, you will be fishing for pelagic species with the mountains and jungle as your backdrop.
