The Elk River, BC’s trout fishing mecca, provides diverse stretches with less traffic than U.S. waters. Brooks Creek is reached via Calgary or Cranbrook, Canada or Kalispell, MT. Combine Fernie, BC with trout fishing in Montana or on the Bow River, Alberta for a two-destination western experience. Fishing scenarios are varied from classic drift boat floats to jet boats to hiking and wet wading creeks. Guides will be equipped with bear spray as needed. Commonly a basic BC and Alberta fishing license is required, daily specialty river permits are purchased on-site as needed. The lodge is full service but a dinner and beverage in nearby Fernie is enjoyable. A hot tub is available–bring your suit.
