Christmas Island Lodge – Formerly the Captain Cook Hotel is newly renovated and reopened in August 2023! Located about 10 minutes from the CXI airport, the lodge has its own private launch site, only 10 minutes from the inner lagoon, that allows anglers to be the first out on the water each morning targeting a variety of species of fish. The expansive, well-maintained oceanside property provides the opportunity to indulge in evening cocktails and appetizers while recounting fishing stories under the traditional Maneaba (local gathering place) while waves crash on the beach only steps away.

Fishing

CIL offers top-notch expert guides and quick access to the inner lagoon. Which boasts 150 square miles of easily wadable flats in the lagoon, endless oceanside reefs, and incredible blue water opportunities, CXI’s diverse fishery ensures that each day will bring an exciting new angling opportunity.

Accommodation

The lodge offers 5 bungalows each providing two private suites with a refrigerator, AC and ensuite bathrooms with hot/cold water. Hosting a max of 10 anglers ensures private accommodations and a relaxed atmosphere. All rooms are clean, comfortable, and equipped with plenty of space to store gear.

Gear

9’ 7 or 8 wt. fast action fly rods for Bonefishing and similar 9’ 10-12 wt. rods for GT’s. Large arbor reels with at least 150 yds. of backing. 9ft. leaders tapered to 10-12lbs. and matching fluorocarbon tippet for Bonefish. Sturdy wading boots are a must – Simms Flats Sneaker or Vaportread Boot.

Trip Specifics

Proof of Vaccination, Health Declaration Form, Health SOP Form, and a passport that is valid for 6 months after the last day of your trip is required. Citizens and nationals of the US, Canada, the UK, & many other nations are exempted from visa requirements. Fishing packages at CIL are a Tues to Tues format. Flats fishing involves using an outrigger or single hull vessel to access the flats. Bonefishing is entirely wade fishing. Flights originate from Honolulu on Fiji Air. The flight only runs on Tuesdays. Min stay is 7 nights. Local Currency is AUD. Electric current is the same as US.

Rates

Standard Angler Rate w/ Solo Room/Guide: $4,950 pp. Included: 6D/7N of 1:1 Guided Fishing, Meals, Wine/Beer/Soda/Water, Boat Use, Laundry Services, Lodge Transfers, Fishing License, & VAT 12.5%. Excluded: Airfare, HNL Hotels, Personal Items, Liquor, Trip Add-ons, Guide/Staff Gratuities, & Gear.
