Cosmoledo Atoll, located 560 nautical miles SW of the main island of Mahe, is a land-based fishing operation situated on Wizard Island, the ultimate saltwater destination for the traveling angler. Known for its giant trevally fishing, the sheer number and variety of fish have amazed anglers from across the globe. It offers a rare opportunity and a privilege to gaze into a world which has changed very little in the years that have past. The program runs from Thursday to Thursday, thus providing the perfect opportunity to extend the trip and enjoy the famed Alphonse Island fishing program.
Cosmoledo’s large white sand flats, lagoon edges and channels are ruled by the notorious giant trevally. A plethora of other species makes Cosmoledo a truly special fishing destination. Bonefish, milkfish, Indo-Pacific permit, triggerfish, bluefin trevally and others call this amazing atoll home.
The lodge consists of eight double/twin en-suite cabins with a central communal dining and entertainment area. The rooms are made up of custom-designed, up-cycled containers, and the dining and entertainment area is a large tent with bare sand floors.
As a general rule, we use a 9 wt. outfit for bonefish and permit, a 10 wt. for triggerfish and milkfish and a 12 wt. for GTs, bluefin trevally and barracuda, all paired with quality reels with proven drag systems. A complete gear list will be sent upon confirmation of your trip.
