Securing exclusive access to the best trout water is the hallmark of Coyhaique River Lodge’s fishing program. Owners Gaston and Claudio Urrejola have developed relationships with landowners that allow them to offer their guests unparalleled opportunities on water that most trout anglers only dream about. Non-fishermen will enjoy the wide range of lodge arranged activities in this scenic mountainous region. A comfortable modern lodge with a million-dollar view, attentive hosts and staff, and seasoned local guides merge for the complete experience.
Famous rivers, little known streams, spring creeks and remote lakes make up this world-class fishing program which is customized by the guides to suit particular preferences. With all of these water options available, guests will never have to repeat a beat during a visit–unless they ask nicely.
Accommodating 8 anglers, the 10,000 square foot lodge boasts 8 ample bedrooms offering 2 queen beds with en-suite bathroom and plenty of space. Floor to ceiling glass allows the spectacular Coyhaique River Valley view in the dining and living rooms while the vast wood deck and hot tub beckon.
Fast action fly rods in 5/6 wt. and weight forward floating lines will handle most situations. A sink-tip line is suggested for streamer fishing in the bigger waters. A complete gear list will be provided with confirmation packages. Contact Frontiers for first-hand tackle and fly recommendations.
Coyhaique River Lodge is on Route 243, east of the town of Coyhaique, on a rolling 40-acre riverfront plot. The lodge “Adventure Program” is ideal for non-fishermen wanting to actively see the region and experience Chilean culture. An evening in the town of Coyhaique is a must and local restaurants are quaint, complemented by regional micro-brews. Balmaceda Airport is 45 minutes southeast hosting regular flights from/to Santiago, the international gateway to Chile and Puerto Montt, if guests plan to travel south to Torres del Paine National Park or other regions.
Range from $4,550 to $6,750 for a 7-night/6-day for the fishing and non-fishing programs. Saturday to Saturday programs are preferred, but shorter stays are possible with Saturday arrival or departures encouraged.
