The landscape is typical of the Andes foothills—think Montana where the High Plains meet the Rockies—combining open country, forests, and high foothills covered in pine. The 50,000 acres are a truly gorgeous and productive environment for wildlife. Most importantly, the foothills have some of the largest wild red stag trophies in Argentina. The ranch is located half-way between Junín de los Andes and San Martin de los Andes. Famous lakes and rivers, such as Lake Lolog and the Chimehuin River, border this Estancia.
This is typical high Patagonian steppe and plateau country, creating challenging conditions. The vegetation is typically low, so you can spot and evaluate stag from a distance. You will have the opportunity to see large groups of trophies daily. Hunting is done via horseback or 4X4.
The lodge is the original ranch home, renovated five years ago. You will enjoy staying in one of five large, comfortable double bedrooms with private bathrooms. The common areas have a relaxed feel that will put you right at home. Fine local wines complement the excellent cuisine.
Necessities are high-quality binoculars, comfortable hiking boots, kneepads, and leather gloves for stalking. We'll send a complete gear list upon booking your reservation.
Fly commercially to Buenos Aires and onward service to San Carlos Bariloche or San Martin de los Andes. Lago Hermoso lies 23 miles south of San Martin in the heart of northern Patagonia.
Five-night/five-day hunt is $10,700 per person and includes a trophy red stag up to 320” SCI. March/April season. Additional trophies, trout fishing, and cull animals may be available. Prices are subject to change.
