Southern Hemisphere trout season runs November 1-May annually. Red Stag and European Boar hunting available seasonally. Anglers fly commercial service from Buenos Aires to San Martin (Chapelco) or Bariloche. Drive times are approximately 45 minutes from San Martin and 2.5 hours from Bariloche. Quality gear is available at the lodge – and the Patagonia Outfitters on-site airport fly shop - and guides have generous fly selections; pack light if you wish.
Trip Host
Longtime Frontiers trip host and photographer, Barry travels far and wide to follow his love for fly fishing and nature photography. Based in Pennsylvania, Barry and his late wife Cathy write books, host fly fishing departures, lead African photo safaris, and operate a stock photography business. The Becks are well-known in the fishing, photography, and travel industries, and possess a stellar reputation for their skill, knowledge, and expertise born out of a 30 year career.
Their most recent books include Cathy Beck’s Fly Fishing Handbook, now in its third edition; Fly Waters Near and Far, a coffee table book of photographs, and a soon-to-be-released book on Alaska.
