The Lodge sits in a sheltered bay on the eastern shore of Lake Iliamna, providing easy access to the best trout and salmon rivers in the Katmai/Bristol Bay area. The world-famous Copper and Gibraltar Rivers are the home rivers accessed by boat. There are also many fly-out rivers very close, meaning short flights. The Moraine, Funnel, Battle, American, Kvichak, New Halen, and Talarik Rivers are on the docket for world-class trout and salmon fishing action. The Kamishak and Alagnak River provides quality king salmon fishing for those interested. Either fly or spin fishing for kings.
Five (5) full days of guided fly out fishing in the Bristol Bay/Katmai region including the Copper and Gibraltar Rivers nearby the lodge. We will have five (5) flyout trips during our stay. You may fish some of the best rivers and streams of Katmai National Park and Bristol Bay including the Moraine, Funnel, Battle, American, Kvichak, Little Ku, and the Talarik rivers to name a few. With plenty of options for flyout destinations, you will be fishing the best producing rivers at the exact time of your trip.
Intricate Bay Lodge is a small venue operation with five double guest rooms to entertain 10 guests per week. Marvel at the magnificent view of the sun setting over Lake Iliamna while enjoying cocktails and appetizers. Weekly barbecues are held on the deck, with propane heaters to keep you cozy.
$10,250 per person based on double occupancy accommodations. Rates subject to change. Exclusions include airfare to/from Anchorage and to/from Iliamna, fishing license (available online), alcohol, staff and guide gratuities. Guests are welcome to use Lodge rods, reels, tackle.
Guests fly commercially to Anchorage. The first night in Anchorage is spent in a hotel. The following morning, take a taxi or hotel shuttle to the charter office for Iliamna Air Taxi. They will provide your round-trip air transportation between Anchorage and Iliamna. Upon arrival, we’ll meet our hosts, who will provide ongoing floatplane transfer to the Lodge, which is approximately 15 minutes across Lake Iliamna. Once at the Lodge, you will be shown to your room, followed by unpacking and time spent with your guide.

Longtime Frontiers trip hosts and photographers, the Becks travel far and wide to follow their love for fly fishing and nature photography. Based in Pennsylvania, Barry and Cathy write books, host fly fishing departures, lead African photo safaris, and operate a stock photography business. The Becks are well-known in the fishing, photography, and travel industries, and possess a stellar reputation for their skill, knowledge, and expertise born out of a 30 year career.
Their most recent books include Cathy Beck’s Fly Fishing Handbook, now in its third edition; Fly Waters Near and Far, a coffee table book of photographs, and a soon-to-be-released book on Alaska.
