Frontiers' newest addition in Alaska, Intricate Bay Outpost, is the unique private sister lodge to Intricate Bay Lodge water-front on a pristine, remote bay adjacent to the larger property. Newly remodeled, the Outpost offers a full fly-out fishing itinerary paired with simple comfortable accommodations. 8 guests can have this 6BR lodge exclusive. Intricate Bay Outpost operates from mid-June to late-September seasonally. Exclusions: Airfare to/from Anchorage/Iliamna, fishing license (available online), alcohol, waders/boots, and gratuities.
Owner/operator, Brian Harry, offers a diverse Alaska fishing experience from this Iliamna Lake lodge tucked away in a protective cove. You fish several fantastic fisheries such as the Copper and Gibraltar Rivers, and fly outs to all the favorites like Moraine, American, and Talarik.
The fly-out Lodge offers six guest rooms each with in-room vanity. There are three full baths to share. Ideal for exclusive parties or families. Additional amenities include wireless internet, chef-prepared meals, a cozy living room, fly tying station, and a full fly-out fishing program.
Combo of 6 and 8 wt. fly rod or a 5 and 7 wt. works well all season. Conventional: Lightweight rod/reel combo for smaller fish, and a medium action rod (6-7 ft.) for salmon. The lightweight reel should hold 150 yds. of 6-8 lb. mono. Salmon reels should hold at least 150 yds. of 12-15 lb. mono.
Fly commercially to Anchorage. Spend the first night in Anchorage in a hotel. The following morning, take a taxi or shuttle to the charter office for Lake and Peninsula Air. They will provide your round-trip air transportation between Anchorage and Iliamna. Upon arrival, the lodge provides ongoing floatplane transfer to the lodge. The floatplane ride is approximately 15 minutes across Lake Iliamna. Once at the lodge, you will be shown to your room, followed by dinner and time spent with your hosts/guides. You begin fishing the following morning.
Executive Package - $9,000 per person - 5 and a half days fishing/five flyouts. Combination Package - $7,500 per person - 5 and a half days fishing/three flyouts. Guests are welcome to use lodge rods, reels, and tackle. Waders/boots are not included.

Alaska is truly one of the last frontiers for purely wild fish. Seasonal prolific runs fill the rivers with large volumes of salmon making their way to their spawning grounds and eager for the fly. The season kicks off in April with wild steelhead fishing in southeast Alaska, followed throughout the summer by various salmon migrations.
