July Atlantic Salmon Runs on the Nordura

The Nordura River in Iceland is consistently in the top five rivers in Iceland for total number of salmon caught annually.  Starting in late June through July the large runs of salmon enter the river and take their spots in the clear water.  A small number of rods are left in select prime dates and this is your chance to fish this river for yourself.  The Nordura is perfect for those who like fishing single handed 8 & 9-weight rods and the picturesque setting and the dramatic view from the lodge make it a winning combination.  Often you will fish weight forward floating lines with small flies to target these fish which can often be seen from the heights above the water.  There are currently 3 rods left July 12-15 and 2 rods left July 15-18

Nordura fishing is the dream ticket. All the classic techniques work superbly well, there is huge variation in water from canyons and falls to meadow pools and of course gin-clear water. Located in the west of Iceland, Nordura is only 2 hrs 30 mins from Keflavik airport and close to Borganes. Alternatively you can fly into Reykjavik airport by private jet, 1 hr 30 mins away.
