The Bahia Honda Sporting Club, the only fully inclusive fishing lodge operating in the lower Florida Keys, offers an ideal setting for anglers and non-anglers alike. Located on the water in Cudjoe Key, this Mediterranean-style villa specializes in sight fishing for Tarpon (with opportunities for permit and bonefish) during the peak months of April, May, and June. Guests can take advantage of flexible flats fishing programs, with the added option of Reef and Bluewater fishing.

Fishing is focused mainly on tarpon, both adult fish between 60 and 160 lbs, as well as plenty of smaller and juvenile tarpon from 15-30 lbs.  Fishing can be fly casting or conventional spin fishing, as well as a 3-hour night fishing option after dinner, or offshore fishing can be arranged.  All necessary tackle is provided.  One more wild option is they offer a 3-hour spearfishing session, which is done in less than 10 feet of water and targets mangrove snappers.  Their flats guides are local year-round guides who know the waters well and are very courteous, and work with anglers of any skill level.  You’ll be conveniently picked up and returned to the lodge dock, so no vehicle driving is necessary, and the boat runs are very short.

Following fishing, the lodge hosts a happy hour period with cocktails, aperitifs, and hors d’oeuvres flowing from the kitchen to the courtyard.  You can swim, take naps, or enjoy a complimentary chair massage on the pool deck.  Bahia Honda typically has live dinner music; a pianist, saxophone, flamenco guitarist, or an upbeat clarinet performance are all on the agenda.  They have a well-appointed open bar, cocktails, craft beer, and cigars, all complimentary.

The lodge only operates annually for the very best three months of the year- April, May, and June- and space is limited.  For 2025, there's space available in the second and last weeks in May and the first week of June— which is literally prime time for tarpon.
