I'm Mike Fitzgerald, President of Frontiers. The trout season for much of New Zealand is coming to a close at the end of April. To me, it's the quintessential trophy trout experience -- sight-casting to wild monster browns and rainbows in crystal-clear water... complemented with incredible scenery and lodges dedicated to great cuisine and experiences. Most operators Down Under had to close their doors in mid-March based on COVID-19.
With very little pressure on the waters for the last six weeks of the season, we are expecting great fishing ahead in late 2020 and into 2021. While we are perhaps organizing our trout gear for some home state fishing or maybe a trip to the American West or Alaska in the coming months, now is the time to consider holding space in New Zealand for next season. Availability can become extremely limited from December 1 through February. Until we can climb into a skiff, drift boat, helicopter, or raft with our fishing mate and a world-class guide, our sales team at Frontiers is picking our favorite destination videos from our YouTube channel week by week. With New Zealand on my mind and an absolute favorite destination for our clients, let me share the Down Under experience with you.
