Fishing

Rio Palena Lodge not only fishes its namesake river but also targets the numerous rivers and lakes located in the region. An onsite helicopter adds inaccessible waters to the program where trout have seen few if any flies.

Accommodation

During your stay, you will relax in one of seven rooms nestled on a 13-acre property in a temperate rainforest. Soothe your body and mind in the hot tub or sauna then take in the breath-taking views of the Andes from the back porch. Chef prepared cuisine and top-shelf libations compliment your stay

Gear

6 wt. rods with fighting butts and floating lines; 7/8 wt. fast-action rods with 250–400 sink tip lines in combination. Coastal Chile requires layered clothing, proven rain gear, and waterproof daypack daily as weather changes often. We provide a full pre-trip upon booking.

Trip Specifics

You must arrive in Puerto Montt, Chile on Friday night for the weekly package. An overnight at a local hotel is required for charter connections. On Saturday you will board a charter flight to Alta Palena Airport where lodge staff will meet you and transfer you to the lodge. All fishing gear – rod reel boots and waders are provided complimentary to guests. Fishing licenses are included in the cost. Frontiers will arrange all Puerto Montt hotels and transfers; staff are well-versed in the region.
