Continuing to set the standard for Costa Rica's east coast angling programs, Rio Parismina Lodge combines luxury accommodations with quick access to the river/estuary and ocean. Most anglers target the large tarpon, but the lodge also offers offshore fishing along with freshwater fishing within the boundary of the untouched rainforest of Tortuguero National Park. Built on 50 acres of lush jungle on the Parismina River banks, wildlife and an amazing array of birdlife surround guests. Besides fishing, you can enjoy turtle excursions, river cruises, and even night crocodile tours.
The ecosystem creates a diversity of fish with tarpon in the 75-110 lb. range caught mostly blind-casting near rolling fish; offshore there’s snapper, wahoo, jacks, king mackerel and tuna. The lagoons hold guapote and machaca. Experienced bilingual guides will lead you to the hottest action.
12 spacious double rooms each with over-sized showers, ceiling fans, and a large walk-in closet. The lodge also has a swimming pool and Jacuzzi, a fully stocked tackle shop, and an open-air central lodge with bar, recreation and dining area known for serving memorable gourmet and native dishes.
Loaner rods and reels provided; flies and lures are extra. If you wish to buy gear, the tackle shop is well-equipped with lures popular for the area and quality rods and reels with fresh line. Fly anglers should bring their own equipment. Details on gear will be provided upon trip confirmation.
