Few mixed bag lodges offer a trip as worthy as this. Over a dozen duck species fill the sky, including the well-known rosy-billed pochard. In the field, you can expect comfortable blinds, a professional guide on sight, friendly and knowledgeable bird boys, refreshments, and plenty of ducks and doves. Many of the area’s best hunting spots are within a 15-minute drive from the lodge, which allows less time driving and more time hunting. Guests shoot doves each afternoon and return to the lodge for a wonderful Argentine dinner and a fine bottle of Malbec. Optional perdiz hunts available.
Morning hunts offer ample species of puddle duck decoyed from blinds. Following a traditional lunch at the estancia, spend afternoons shooting doves in one of the nearby flyways. Optional perdiz is available as well; shoot hard-flushing perdiz over well-trained pointers.
There are two lodges to choose from based on group dynamics. El Rincon offers eight bedrooms and four bathrooms. Santa Rosa offers eight bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Both estancias can comfortably take a group of up to 12 hunters. All game species are within a 30-45 minute drive from either lodge!
Semi-auto and o/u rental guns from 12–28 ga. are available at $60 per day. Beretta/Benelli is the commonly carried brand. Shells are species-appropriate. Shooting clothes should be neutral colors; camouflage is optional. Guests generally bring their own waders and recoil reduction device.
Easily reach Buenos Aires via direct flight from the United States on American, United, Delta, LAN or Aerolineas Airlines. Upon arrival, you will be met and driven to the lodge in an air-conditioned vehicle (3-hour drive). Enjoy lunch and your shooting begins. Your final day has a morning shoot before you depart for the airport. We can easily arrange extension travel to the wine country of Mendoza or a day or two in Buenos Aires (the Paris of South America).
$1,290 per night. All-inclusive meals, open bar, overland transfer from Buenos Aires/lodge and return, and hunting license. Does not include gun rental ($70 per day), gratuities, and shells ($15 per box).
