Road Less Traveled=Water Less Fished

If you’re the kind of angler who seeks out the “road less traveled” and yearns to fish untouched waters, Rumbo Patagon in Chile is a destination worth considering. This program, created by the owners of the renowned Coyhaique River Lodge, is nestled just outside Torres del Paine National Park in southern Chile. Here, you’ll explore small rivers, streams, and lakes scattered across private estancias—waters that are rarely, if ever, fished. To make the most of the experience, a fast-action 6- or 7-weight fly rod with weight-forward floating lines will cover most fishing scenarios. A sink-tip line is also recommended for streamer fishing in larger waters.

Accommodations are provided in a charming estancia house located just 15 minutes north of Puerto Natales in the village of Puerto Bories. With only two rods available during select February weeks—February 8–15, February 15–22, and February 22–March 1—this is an opportunity for an intimate and truly unique fly-fishing experience.
