Seychelles - Alphonse and Farquhar - October 26 - November 04, 2019 Fishing Report

Second milkfish of the season for Alphonse and three bumpys for Farquhar Atoll

Alphonse Island Fishing Report
26th October - 04th November 2019

Our anglers experienced a fantastic week on St. Francois Atoll this week. A strong south-easterly wind blew for most of the week making casting a challenge for even the most experienced anglers however this did not stop anyone from bending rods and landing their fish of a lifetime. The anglers were able to take full advantage of the spring tide letting them make shots at a wide variety of species.

Day one was a fanciful day for anglers. Antonio landed a beautiful 60cm bonefish. Bernard put in some hard work and managed to land two GTs measuring 67cm and 70cm. On day two Turner landed a mustache triggerfish he had been working extremely hard for. The trigger measured 35cm. Day three was a fantastic day for Vladimir and Sergie, Vladimir landed a trigger slam consisting of a 20cm yellowmargin triggerfish, 20cm mustache triggerfish and a mature picasso triggerfish while out on a surf walk. Sergie managed to land a Flats Slam during the same session with a substantial bonefish, a 20cm mustache triggerfish and an 80cm GT. David landed a 71cm GT.

Day five was a boundless day for Chantal who managed to land the second milkfish of the season guided by the legendary Yousuf. The milkfish was landed after a 35-minute fight and measured a whopping 104cm making it the largest milkfish landed so far this season.

Another fantastic week was spent at Alphonse Island fishing St Francois Atoll. Memories were made and bonds were formed that will last a lifetime. A huge congratulations goes out to all the anglers that fished with us for the week. Stay tuned for next week’s report as we are sure you won’t want to miss it.

Farquhar Atoll Fishing Report
30th October 2019

This week weather conditions were a little tough. High winds and multiple passing fronts made fishing a challenge. Tides started in springs, with lots of water movement on and off the flats, and we ended the week in neaps.

Six GTs were landed this week. Reid landed two and Kris landed another two. Jason landed one GT, as did Craig. In addition to the six GTs, we also caught our first golden trevally of the season. Rudy caught the elusive fish on a crab pattern.
Three triggerfish were landed. Craig landed two, one mustache and one yellowmargin, and Jarrett landed a large mustache trigger. Three Bumpies were caught this week, William landed his first bumpy, so did Kris and Jason.

For the second week in a row, Eric landed an Indo-Pacific permit. This week he landed a trophy class fish of 73cm. Amazing fish Eric!

Our bluewater fishing was incredible with four sailfish landed! Craig landed his first sailfish on the fly and followed it up with another fish later in the week for good measure. William followed landing his first sailfish, with Jarrett following suit! Craig finished off his two weeks on the atoll in fantastic fashion by completing a Flats Slam on the last day of the trip. Landing a GT, a 54cm yellowmargin trigger, and a bonefish; congrats to Craig for the great accomplishment!

Thanks to all our guests for a fantastic week of multi-species flats fishing!
