Soaring Eagle Lodge is world-renowned for year-round productive fly fishing on the famous San Juan tailwater. The river flows just downstream of the Quality Waters, which extend approximately four miles from the base of the Navajo Dam. The Lodge is located on a ranch and provides private access to the river without the crowds. In addition to outstanding fishing, the Lodge offers a wide variety of distinctive American cuisine.
Soaring Eagle proudly offers the most knowledgeable guides in the area. You can customize your fishing day to include public wade fishing, float fishing, and private-access fishing at the Eagle Ranch Lands, a pristine piece of land surrounding the Lodge that is exclusive to its guests.
You'll enjoy angler-friendly riverfront cabins that offer a full-size TV, kitchenette, Wi-Fi, two beds, living room, and outdoor patio to enjoy the view of the river. A conference center is available for larger group use for a nominal fee. Enjoy hearty meals in the Jake's Place restaurant.
Frontiers will provide a complete gear list. The Lodge also has a fly shop on-site. We like 4 to 6 wt. rods (depending on the streams you are fishing) with floating lines. Be sure to bring quality raingear, polarized sunglasses, waders, and a hat for sun protection. Dress in layers!
The Lodge offers 3- to 6-night packages. The package rate includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The closest airports are Durango (one-hour drive) or Farmington (45-minute drive). You'll rent a vehicle and drive to the Lodge. United and Delta service both airports. You're invited to bring alcoholic beverages, as Soaring Eagle is located on a reservation and cannot sell alcohol.
