The Place to Get Your Fishing Fix - Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula

Sometimes you need to get your fishing fix right away. You just can't wait months for your next big trip on the water.  Well, if that is you then you should consider a trip to Mexico to fish the Yucatan for the grand slam species.  The wide sandy flats with cruising permit and tarpon-filled mangroves are just a few hours away.

The lodges that Frontiers represent are accessed easily from American cities through Cancun International Airport and most lodges do not require a week-long stay so you can get on the water in no time. At present the report from Grand Slam Lodge in Ascension Bay is that tarpon from 10-60 pounds are being caught and large snook (30-30”) have fallen to some happy clients. Bonefish are plentiful and eager to play. Good numbers of permit are around but they are still as finicky as always. Baitfish fly patterns in natural colors have produced well of late.

If you have the fishing fever right now, give Ben Hoffman a call and he can talk to you about the options in Mexico's Yucatan peninsula.
