This exciting new Heli fishing option utilizes the lodge’s Robinson R44 Raven II Helicopters, flying anglers daily to some of the most remote parts of the Bolivian jungle in pursuit of the mighty Dorado. Limited to just 8 rods per week, with a pro guide for each pair of anglers, it offers the opportunity to explore areas where no other anglers and, in some cases, humans have ever stepped foot. The Heli fishing program includes two nights at a 5-star hotel in Santa Cruz, 7 nights at the new Pluma Lodge addition in single-occupancy wooden cabins, and 6 days of guided Heli fishing.
With Tsimane's new Heli Fishing program, you'll fish wild, untouched rivers and tribs. Tsimane has the ideal geographical location due to its proximity to the headwaters of many rivers. Anglers have opportunities to sight fish for large dorado, pacu, and yatorana all in good quantities.
A new jungle lodge has been built entirely from sustainable wood cut from the nearby jungle. The Lodge has a new helipad and five new single-occupancy rooms with queen-sized beds, electricity, a desk, armchair, and private bath. There is also a small fly shop and spa room with jacuzzi/massage area.
Equipment is not included. 8 and 9-weight rods recommended. Ideally the angler will carry two rods, one rigged with a floating line and the other with a clear-tip intermediate line. We recommend 8 foot, 40-lb. straight fluoro shock leaders with a 40-lb. wire tippet. The lodge has a small fly shop.
Guests fly to the Viru Viru International Airport (VVI) in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. You’ll be greeted by the Tsimane team and driven to a five-star hotel (included). Their ground team will meet you in the morning and drive you to the local airport. You'll take a 1:40-minute charter flight to the Oromomo Community landing strip. From there, it’s a 1:20-minute dugout canoe ride to the Lodge. Over the next six days, the helicopter will take you to the remote and untouched headwaters of many Tsimane rivers and creeks. Daily flights vary from five to 20 minutes, depending on the location.
9-nights and 6-days guided fishing; $16,000.00 + $1,250.00 Community/Nat’l Park Fee per person. Included is 2 nights at a 5 star hotel in Santa Cruz, charter flights to/from lodge, 6 days of guided Heli fishing, all ground transfers, meals and open bar, WiFi, and laundry service.

There are not enough adjectives to fully categorize this one-of-a kind destination. This is the culmination of your fly-fishing skills as you steady your nerves to cast to marauding Golden Dorado. These fish are full of nastiness and fury and will shred a 3 lb. baitfish in seconds. Add shots at large Pacu, Yatorana, and even a big Surubi catfish that will eagerly gulp a fly.
