Belize is a 2 1/2-hour flight from several U.S. gateway cities (Miami, Houston, Dallas, and Atlanta). Turneffe Flats Lodge is a 90-minute boat ride from the mainland to the island. On arrival day, guests need to arrive in Belize City no later than 3pm local Belize time; on departure day, guests need to book their international flights no earlier than 11:30am local Belize time. For U.S. citizens; a passport that is valid for 6 months after the last day of your trip is required. Residents of other countries should check with their consulate for entry requirements.

Longtime Frontiers trip host and photographer, Barry travels far and wide to follow his love for fly fishing and nature photography. Based in Pennsylvania, Barry and his late wife Cathy write books, host fly fishing departures, lead African photo safaris, and operate a stock photography business. The Becks are well-known in the fishing, photography, and travel industries, and possess a stellar reputation for their skill, knowledge, and expertise born out of a 30 year career.
Their most recent books include Cathy Beck’s Fly Fishing Handbook, now in its third edition; Fly Waters Near and Far, a coffee table book of photographs, and a soon-to-be-released book on Alaska.
