Desroches Island Flyfishing Adventures - Fishing

Fishing in the Seychelles is well known for incredible diversity as well as huge numbers of bonefish. The Desroches Island Flyfishing Adventures program takes advantage of both attributes. On the flats, you will hunt for bonefish, permit, trevally, milkfish, and trigger fish. Off shore, your targets include big Dogtooth tuna, Yellowfin tuna, Dorado, marlin, wahoo, and sailfish. Fishing over the reef will bring even more diversity and possible species include Amberjacks, Groupers, Snappers, Queenfish, Emperors, Jobfish, and more.

Your 6 fishing days will be split between two separate, unique atolls: Poivre Atoll and St. Joseph's Atoll.  Poivre Atoll is a short 40 minutes from Desroches, and DIFA uses a comfortable ferry to complete this run. Poivre offers a mix of coral, turtle grass and hard sand bottoms. Big schools of bonefish frequent the flats, with Permit cruising along the beaches. Depending on the tides, you can also expect to see Barracuda, Triggerfish, Giant Trevally, Bluefin Trevally, and Milkfish.

St. Joseph's Atoll offers some of the prettiest and most productive flats to be found anywhere. The atoll is comprised of a string of small islands linked together by large sand flats and turtle grass patches. With the additional of flats skiffs this upcoming season, experienced anglers can rack up big numbers of big bones or set out after the atolls population of Indo-Pacific Permit. Blue water and reef fishing are also superb here.
