Argentina
Argentina is one of the finest sporting destinations in the world. From the hills of Cordoba where the skies blacken with doves to the remote rivers of southern Patagonia, this is a destination to suit all your desires.
Fishing: Being in Argentina's Patagonia is almost like stepping back in time. Absent of crowds that fill many of America's western rivers you will often find yourself on large Argentine ranches nearly alone with miles of rivers and lakes at your disposal. The pace is slower and more traditional, with your hosts and guides eager to please you with fine food and great Malbec wines. This makes it a perfect compliment to a day of trout fishing.
Shooting: Argentina covers an area of over 1.7 million square miles and the wingshooting and sporting diversity is unprecedented. Buenos Aires Province and surrounding regions offer vast potholes and slews ideal for decoying 13 different species of duck. The eastern border of the country, along the Parana and Uruguay River, presents a “low country†environment where clouds of Rosy-bills, teal, and other species jump from feed to rivers and back. Spread throughout the central and northeast regions, fast holding and hard flushing perdiz haunt the stubble and hedgerows requiring a steady pointer and fast hand. Probably most notable in the country are the passing doves and decoyed pigeons that can be found in vast numbers throughout the northern provinces in both flat rolling and mountainous country. For the big game hunters, free-range stag populates Rio Negro, Neuquén, La Pampa, and Mendoza provinces along the western border in the foothills of the Andes Mountains. Populations of Black Buck and wild boar populate many of the regions, complementing a big game or wingshooting excursion. It's an understatement to say the country is diverse -- it truly is a sportsman's paradise!
