The Sultanate of Oman is the oldest independent Arab state and is situated on the southeastern coastline of the Arabian Peninsula. On both the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman, it opens to the Arabian Sea sharing borders with the UAE, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia. Muscat is the national capital and largest city located on the north-central coastline. The fishery in the southern regions is wild and unprecedented but not for the beginning angler. Anglers will often couple a stay in Dubai on the front and back end of the Omani adventure, buffering the travel times needed to reach this golden coastline for a 3 to 6-day inclusive fishing excursion.
