Located near the small cowboy town of DeBeque, a 40-minute drive to the Grand Junction Airport, this Orvis Endorsed fly fishing and wingshooting lodge sits on nearly 400 square miles of deeded and permitted lands featuring mountain forests, grasslands, spring creeks, and alpine mesas; ideal habitat for wildlife. There are also many “dude ranch” activities perfect for the entire family. At The High Lonesome Ranch’s epicenter are the ranch headquarters and cookhouse with exceptional cuisine. Both log buildings are from an authentic pioneer homestead.
Guests trout fish the 18-spring creek pools on the main property, float the Roaring Fork and Colorado Rivers and walk-n-wade the White River at their sister property, the K-T Ranch. Packages are customized and can be combined with shooting and other activities.
With a guest capacity of about 60, there are a variety of multi-bedroom cabins, and the Castle Rock safari-style tent experience for up to 10 guests. There is privacy and seclusion--ideal for families, corporate groups and even weddings. There is a conference facility and excellent Wi-Fi!
We will provide a through packing list. The lodge also has a fly shop on-site with a rental program. We like 4- to 6-wt. rods with floating lines. Be sure to bring quality raingear, polarized sunglasses and a hat for sun protection. Dress in layers due to temperature fluctuations!
The typical itinerary is a 6-night/5-day program, which can incorporate some of the many other available activities. Shorter packages are also welcomed. Nonfishers can enjoy a multitude of equestrian adventures, hiking, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, cooking classes, clay bird shooting, massage therapy and whitewater rafting. With so many outdoor activities at the Ranch, guests are sure to work up an appetite. You will be pleased to find exquisite meals when you return from your daily adventures. The Grand Junction Airport is close by and well-serviced by United and other carriers.
The season runs early June-early October.
Rates quoted are per person based on double occupancy/shared guide. Single rates and quotes for shorter packages will be quoted on request. A 6-night/5-day fishing package starts at $2,940.
