Alphonse Island Resort

If you check one destination off your bucket list, it should be Alphonse

Alphonse Island Resort and the expansive hard white sand flats surrounding the atolls of Alphonse and St. Francois provide the background for the fly fishing experience of a lifetime. The atolls are home to incredibly large populations of bonefish, 3 different types of triggerfish, barracuda, snapper, grouper, permit, 3 species of trevally (including the giant trevally), and the incomparable milkfish just to name the most popular.

The accommodations and facilities at Alphonse are among the most comfortable at any fly fishing destination in the world.

Fishing

With multiple species caught on a fly, diversity gives anglers the opportunity to target a myriad of species during their stay. To ensure guests the ultimate fishing experience, only 12 anglers fish per week. Top notch guides are on hand to share their passion for this unique fishery.

Accommodation

Beachside bungalows feature queen-sized beds, sitting area, private bathroom and private outdoor shower. The ‘Le Lys’ central dining and bar area allows guests to socialize while enjoying their favorite drink and dine on the very best of traditional Creole creations.

Gear

As a general rule, an 8 or 9-wt. outfit for bonefish and permit, 10-wt. for the triggerfish and milkfish and a 12-wt. for the GT’s and bluewater. A complete gear list will be sent upon trip confirmation. Frontiers can provide expert advice on finding the right gear for your trip.

Trip Specifics

Alphonse Island is accessed via private charter from the main island of Mahe. Most US and UK clients access Mahe via Dubai with Emirates Airlines. Access to the Mahe can also be made via Condor Airlines from Frankfurt, Germany and Etihad Airlines through Abu Dhabi. Due to the complex nature of these flights, Frontiers will be glad to assist with your travel plans.

There are numerous activities for the non-angler such as snorkeling, eco-walks, swimming, hiking, paddle boards, kayaking, bicycling and more. You must possess a passport valid for 6 months after the last day of your trip.

Not only was the flats fishing amazing but also the bluewater ...
