Las Pampas Lodge is a must-fish destination in Patagonia. Situated in a remote corner of Chubut Province near Chile, Las Pampas Lodge is ideal for those who don’t like to “follow the crowd” and instead want an intimate, small capacity lodge experience in the shadow of the Andes. Anglers love the inexhaustible walk-and-wade fishing, floating the private lagunas and drifting local rivers like the Pico, Pampa and Nilsen. Local guides and an attentive staff along with a dose of Argentine hospitality make this a can't-miss destination.
Southwestern Chubut Province cradles ample trout water to float, wade, and explore. This program keys on mid-size rivers like the Rio Pico and Pampa, the smaller Rio Nilsen, multiple challenging spring creeks, and four lakes where monster trout cruise.
The timber and stone eight-guest lodge features four bedrooms with en suite bathroom, a comfortable living room, dining room and bar that open to incredible views of the Andes that pierce the blue sky. Dine on fine regional cuisine after a day of exploring this distant Patagonia frontier.
5-6 wt. trout rigs with weight forward floating lines will handle the fishing situations and various water sizes. Corresponding sink tips are ideal for streamers or lakes. A complete gear list is provided with confirmation packages. Contact Frontiers staff for in-depth tackle recommendations.
Las Pampas is approximately 3 hours from Esquel and is accessed via Buenos Aires, Argentina. The remoteness of the area and some exclusive access to water means there are no crowds here. The fishing program is varied so you will fish spring creeks and streams as well as float the Rio Pico and Pampa and several nearby lagoons and lakes. The lodge can supply rods, reels, boots and waders free of charge to all guests and has an ample supply of flies. Fishing season runs December-April annually.
7-night/6-day (Sat-Sat): $6,800 per angler with shared room/guide. A Sat.-Sat. visit is optimum. Single room and guide supplements apply.
