Anglers travel the globe for a “chance of a lifetime” trout scouring rivers in vast foreign countries. Well who knew that one of the best chances flowed in Arkansas’ White River on a 100-mile stretch below the Bull Shoals Dam? More than just a trophy fishery, the White and North Fork offer an abundance of 4 species of trout. The White River Inn affords anglers this fishery while experiencing 5-star accommodations, guide and staff service and regional cuisine. The Arkansas state motto is “Regnat Populus” or “People Rule”; however on the White River, perhaps it is the trout that rule.
Most renowned for the opportunity at a double-digit brown or rainbow, the White River is also a prolific tailwater offering up copious numbers of healthy trout to drifters on a daily basis. Most fish are taken sub-surface or on dry/dropper rigs during seasonal hatches.
Perched commandingly on the edge of a 300-foot high bluff overlooking the White River, the 8500-square ft. Western red cedar lodge offers 5 luxury suites - 3 with Jacuzzis and electric fireplaces. The White River Inn is an Ideal destination for couples, families, and corporate outings alike.
We recommend 5–6 wt. rod for dry fly & nymphing and 7–8 wt. rod with sink-tip for streamers. Bring quality rain gear, polarized sunglasses, boat shoes, and sun protection. Dress in layers depending on time of year! The lodge offers all-inclusive gear use. Frontiers provides a thorough pre-trip.
Trout fishing is year-round on the White River tailwater. The lodge is “all inclusive” and can provide all fly and conventional fishing gear. Anglers travel the rivers in custom flat bottom skiffs with jet motors for quick access to nearly 100 miles of water. The lodge is located in Cotter, Arkansas just down river from the Bull Shoals Dam on 31 private acres. Major airports are Springfield-Branson National Airport (2:00 hours), Branson, MO (1:30 hours), Fayetteville Regional (2:23 hours) and Little Rock, AR (3:00 hours). The lodge offers high-speed Wi-Fi with good cell reception on property.
