Fishing

Located on the Motueka River, this property offers immediate access to New Zealand’s top fly fishing waters. Within an hour, reach numerous streams and rivers, sight-casting to large wild brown trout with expert guides. A helipad allows quick access to pristine backcountry streams in just minutes.

Accommodation

The lodge features four guest rooms, each with private balconies offering stunning views of the Motueka River and Mount Arthur Range in Kahurangi National Park. Built from natural stone and timber, it includes a large double-sided fireplace, open kitchen, dining area, library, and fly-tying space.

Gear

Bring a 6-wt. fly rod, along with rubber-soled wading boots. The lodge has a great SAGE & Simms rental program. Quality raingear and polarized glasses are essential. Dress in layers; we suggest neutral colors.

Trip Specifics

Guests fly to Nelson via commercial service from Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch. There is no set itinerary, but we suggest a minimum 4-night/3-day stay for anglers. There are a multitude of non-fishing activities from local wineries and hiking to sea kayaking in Abel Tasman National Park. The lodge is centered around entertainment and dining experiences. The Head Chef has extensive international experience and enjoys passing on some of his secrets to guests as they sit with a wine at the kitchen bench watching the evening meal develop.

Rates

High Season rates (November 1 – April 30) for a 4-night/3-day inclusive fishing package start at $3,645 per person based on double-occupancy/shared guide. Other packages quoted on request.
