A versatile flats program in a protected fishery 35 minutes north of Cancun with accommodation options in the reasonably priced city hotel or a premier deluxe resort or aboard the Fin Chasers 51’ Mother Ship. Anglers enjoy a great tarpon resource for resident juveniles and migratory trophies and snook, permit, bonefish, jacks, barracuda, and other species. If choosing the resort, it’s a great place to take a non-fishing companion. With so many direct flights to Cancun, it’s one of the easiest quality saltwater programs to access.
Isla Blanca fishing area is 35 minutes north of Cancun in the Mar Caribe Biosphere. It covers 50 nautical miles from the Rio Manatee north to Cabo Catoche, the Caribbean border, and the Gulf of Mexico. A fleet of four new 23’ pangas with 50 HP engines and experienced guides welcome you.
Three options: the economical Krystal Urban Cancun Centro, the deluxe Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres Resort & Spa, and the Kattu, a 51’ 4-stateroom mother ship. This program is ideal for value seekers staying in town, couples looking for a higher-end resort, and/or serious fishers aboard the Kattu.
Fly Rods: 7, 8 & 9-weight for bones, permit, resident tarpon and snook, year-round (all floating Lines); bring an 11 or 12-weight for migratory tarpon season with 350 to 500-grain sinking lines. A complete gear list will be sent upon confirmation. The outfitter has loaner gear available.
The program is easily accessed with private transportation from the Cancun Airport. You will be checked in to the hotel or aboard the Kattu +/- 40 minutes after leaving the airport. If staying in the hotels, you will be met and transferred (less than 20 minutes) to meet your guide and get on your skiff for a full day of fishing. The Mother Ship docks farther north in the heart of the fishing region, which greatly reduces your transfer time daily. Packages of any length can be accommodated from the hotels. The Mother Ship program is 5-nights/4-days.
Open year-round. Shorter and longer packages quoted on request.
5-night/4-day package per person:
Kattu Mother Ship: $5,495 based on four anglers (single room, shared guide)
Palladium Hotel: $2,995 (shared room, shared guide)
Urban Centro: $2,195 (shared room, shared guide)
