Jorge Trucco has long been synonymous with famed wingshooting and fly fishing throughout Argentina. A pioneer in both disciplines, Jorge’s commitment to the comfort of hunters afield and under roof is a testament to his tenured study of destination travel. Estancia Santa Rita is an old friend—the first lodge ever offered by Jorge, privatized by the family, and finally brought back to the welcoming arms of Patagonia Outfitters and shooting guests. Jorge carefully handpicked the Estancia’s location along the primary migratory flyway in the heart of agricultural Argentina.
Hunt twelve species of decoyed ducks among La Pampa grain-producing flyway from innovative dry barrel and suspended platform blinds. Aquatic rich topography features diverse lakes, potholes, sloughs, and rivers. They offer Perdiz as bonus hunts based on season and current population.
Santa Rita is a gentrified Argentine estate home rich with Spanish architecture. Boasting six spacious bedrooms with en suite bathroom, this sprawling property features large gathering rooms eager to host shooting tales over fine wine as the renowned chef prepares diverse, international cuisine.
Semi-auto and o/u rental guns from 12–20 ga. are available at $80 per day. Beretta/Benelli/Browning are common brands. Weather fluctuates, and we encourage camouflage waterproof shooting clothing. While blinds are dry, waders are necessary. We provide a full pre-trip and gear list upon booking.
Getting there: 270 miles west of Buenos Aires via private charter to Santa Rita grass strip (one-hour), or charter to Pehuajo and 60-minute drive, or ground transportation (four and a half hours). Group minimum is three; max of 10. Hunt for red shoveler, teal (silver/ring/speckled/Brazilian), brown and white-cheeked pintail, fulvous and white-fronted whistling duck, Chilean widgeon, and rosy-billed pochard. Average drive times from 10 to 45 minutes based on daily blind and field selection. Ideal cast and blast with Limay River Lodge.
$1465 per person/night. Includes two hunts per day, all meals, beverages, and laundry service. Excludes transfers from BA to lodge (charter or van), gun entry, hunting licenses ($65* per day), shells, and gun rental. Non-shooting guests $735 per person/night. *Subject to Change
